American Muslim Association of Lawton (AMAL) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious organization based in Lawton, Oklahoma. Our purpose is to provide a stable, welcoming Islamic center for residents who seek worship services, trustworthy learning opportunities, family connection, charitable assistance, and constructive community engagement. The organization serves people at different stages of life and levels of religious knowledge, including new visitors who may be unfamiliar with an Islamic center.
AMAL’s mission is to strengthen faith, encourage positive character, support families, and create practical opportunities for service. We believe a healthy community is built through regular prayer, accurate education, respectful relationships, and care for neighbors. This means our work extends beyond scheduled worship. It includes educational programs, youth and family activities, outreach, volunteer involvement, and charitable support offered within the organization’s capacity.
Clear programs, responsible communication, and community trust.
We organize our public information so that visitors can understand what each program offers, who it is intended to serve, and how to ask for more information. We do not promise services that are unavailable, and we encourage families to confirm schedules and enrollment capacity before attending a class or event. When a request falls outside our programs, we may provide general guidance or suggest that the person contact an appropriate local provider.
Accountability is central to our nonprofit identity. The site displays our legal nonprofit status, EIN, physical address, phone number, and organizational email. Donations are requested only for mission-related activities such as worship operations, Islamic education, charitable programs, and facility development. Donors may contact AMAL for clarification before contributing. We do not host advertising networks, unrelated commercial offers, or affiliate promotions.
Our vision for Lawton
Our long-term vision is an Islamic center that remains spiritually grounded, financially responsible, family-friendly, and useful to the broader community. We want children and adults to find sound learning, families to develop lasting relationships, volunteers to contribute meaningful skills, and neighbors to understand our work through open communication. Growth is measured not only by attendance but also by consistency, quality, safety, kindness, and the ability to respond to genuine needs.
AMAL welcomes respectful questions from community members, civic partners, service organizations, and people exploring Islam. Our doors and communication channels are intended to make it easier for people to learn about the organization before taking their next step—whether that step is attending prayer, enrolling in education, volunteering, requesting support, or donating.
